Riffs & fills for the plectrum banjo
I have re-released my book on riffs and fills for te plectrum banjo. This book also includes a 2CD set on which I play every example so you can hear what the music is saying. I explain the situation where you can use the riff with text, then write out the music on the staff as well as showing it with "Don Van Palthe" style block fretboard diagrams.
This book is intended to help the intermediate student accentuate what is typically considered as the four string block chord melody style playing. All the musical phrases are given over common chord changes so that you will easily find places in the music you already play to use them.
I break up the book into 1,2,3&4 string riffs with emphasis on 1,2,&3 string accentuations. These are primarily based on harmonized scale patterns and I chose ones that bring out the passing tones present in the common chord changes used.
