My Music Philosophy

I am an avid student of Buddy Wachter and endeavor to "stand on the shoulders of giants" as it were and used his guidance as an instrumentalist to point me in a more musical direction for the banjo. This has lead me to study the banjo in greater depth than I would've otherwise. Through this viewpoint of seeing the banjo as just another musical instrument, (vs being in some way different from other musical instruments) I have not been intimidated nor diswayed from learning music not traditionally thought of as "for the banjo."

Liner notes:

This album is a compilation from many of my live performances over a two year period. All tracks were recorded digitally aboard Holland America Line cruise ships throughout the world. I would like to thank all who contributed to this recording and to my success as a musician. Not the least of which is Buddy Wachter whose influence is riddled throughout this recording. He graciously gave me permission to record several of his arrangements.
It is my sincere hope that all who listen to this recording will enjoy hearing one of the only native American instruments in an "orchestral" context. The goal of my performance is to show the banjo in a new and different light, while not straying too far from what we have always enjoyed about the banjo. I hope you will enjoy hearing this wonderful piece of American heritage in a new way.
